In 2026, Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church enters a remarkable milestone: 175 years of ministry, fellowship, and faithful service in Salisbury. Since our founding in 1851, Bethel has stood as a place where generations have gathered to worship, grow, and support one another through every season of life. This anniversary invites us not only to look back with gratitude, but also to look forward with hope.

As we celebrate 175 years, we look ahead to the ministry still unfolding. Bethel’s story is not only about where we have been, but where God is calling us next. We continue to grow in service, deepen our faith, and strengthen our commitment to loving our neighbors.

Today, February 22, 2026, Pastor Peggy reminded us in today’s sermon  that Jesus wants us to have joy, sharing the beautiful image of people dancing  at the wedding in Cana.  That spirit of celebration continues at Bethel in the coming year.

We will celebrate one of our first anniversary events on Saturday, March 14,  when we are delighted to welcome Matthew Weaver and Clay Lunsford as they share God’s joy through music. Their concert promises to be an uplifting evening filled with faith, fellowship, and the kind of joy Jesus spoke of.  We invite everyone to come out, bring a friend, and join us for this special event. If you’re able, please bring a canned food item to support Rowan Helping Ministries as we share God’s love with our neighbors.  Let’s celebrate joy together in 2026 — in worship, in music, and in service.
